Transform your routine with these fab tips for teens!
First things firstâskin! Everyoneâs skin is different, so donât just copy everything TikTok recommends (half the time itâs way too expensive anyway đ). Stick to the basics: cleanse, moisturize, and sunscreen every single day (yes, even when itâs cloudy, and yesâeven if youâre dark-skinned, like us).
Use a gentle foaming cleanser and a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer. Blotting papers are your BFF for shiny days.
Creamy cleansers and rich moisturizers will save you. Avoid super-hot showersâthey just dry you out more.
Treat each area differentlyâoil-free for your T-zone, richer cream for dry patches.
Donât scrub your face raw. Gentle products (salicylic acid works wonders) + hands OFF the pimples. Picking only makes things worse.
Change your pillowcase weekly. It sounds random, but it seriously helps with breakouts.
Every girlâs hair is different, so hereâs the breakdown:
Gets oily quicker, so wash 2â3 times a week. Dry shampoo = lifesaver. Flip your part or add a little mousse for instant volume. Heat is okay sometimes, but always use protection.
Your curls LOVE moisture. Wash once or twice a week, and condition like your life depends on it. Detangle with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb (never dry brush). Curl creams and leave-ins = frizz fighters. Swap towels for a cotton T-shirt or microfiber towelâit makes a huge difference.
Moisture is queen. Wash once a week, deep condition, then seal with oils or butters (shea butter, coconut oil, etc.). Protective styles (braids, twists) are lifesavers when school gets hectic. Satin bonnets or pillowcases keep coils juicy and prevent breakage. And donât sleep on spray bottles with water + leave-inâtheyâre game-changers.
Nothing screams âput togetherâ like actually knowing whatâs happening in class đ . Instead:
Your mind needs care too.
Darling, grooming is EVERYTHING.
Periods are part of the glow-up too, so letâs be real:
Being prepared and comfortable on your period = one of the biggest glow-ups.
Glowing up isnât about changing who you areâitâs about feeling confident, clean, and comfortable in your own skin. Small habits add up, bestie. ⨠Youâve got this.
